From its humble beginnings in the mid-1970's, Specialized have grown into a consistently ground-breaking bicycle company, that is about to re-launch its 150 latest models by the end of the year. Breaking into the market by importing overseas cycling products, Mike Sinyard behind his company Specialized, became an innovator when he introduced a new breed of rubber tire - the Specialized Touring Tire. Struggling through its early years, Specialized became the first company to create an official mass produced mountain bike; by 83 Mountain biking took off and Specialized formed the first official professional Mountain team. During the 80's Specialized grew like crazy, becoming one of the biggest companies in the industry.
