      From its humble beginnings in the mid-1970's, Specialized have grown into a consistently ground-breaking bicycle company. Breaking into the market by importing overseas cycling products, Mike Sinyard behind his company Specialized, became an innovator when he introduced a new breed of rubber tire - the Specialized Touring Tire. Slowly growing in its early years, Specialized became the first company to create an official mass produced mountain bike; by 1983 Mountain biking took off and Specialized formed the first official professional Mountain Bike team. During the 80's Specialized grew like crazy, becoming one of the biggest companies in the industry. The company produces a variety of premium cycling gear, including clothing, helmets, and parts such as tyres and saddles.
