The JET 9 is a fast, light, race-ready full suspension bike. Designed around the same award winning CVA suspension system found on Niner's other suspension frames.

Speed was the main design concept of the Jet 9, and the geometry is focused on a balance between stability and maneuverability, and is designed to give the same precise steering as our hardtail frames. All linkage pivots are outfitted with full complement sealed cartridge bearings for a smooth, friction-free suspension, and a custom valved FOX RP23 shock offers superb bump compliance and damping. New forged linkage increases strength and stiffness without any penalty in weight.

New to the Jet 9 is the tapered headtube, which, in addition to dramatically increasing steering precision, brings a new level of strength to the frame by offering a larger surface area for a stiffer/ stronger downtube to be welded to it. (The headset that comes with the frame will also accept a straight steerer fork, via included adapter).

80mm of travel combined with a 29” wheel creates an amazingly smooth ride at an incredibly respectable weight, making the JET 9 the perfect weapon for everything from your local race scene to the all day epic. Why would we mess with a frame that has garnered applause from all 5 of the major US mountain bike magazines, including Best 29er of 2007 and Consumer Choice Award? Because at Niner they believe they can always do better.

Niner has redefined its award winning suspension frame from the ground up maximizing new design and production technologies. From the head tube to the rear drop out, Niner picked over every single detail and asked “can it be done better?” Taper steerer tube technology at the head tube, hydroformed top tube and down tube, and over 10 forged or extruded parts on the R.I.P. 9 all went through a painstaking process of Finite Element Analysis, mechanical stress tests and real world testing to be as light and as strong as possible. The result: increased stiffness everywhere without a weight penalty.

Wide, Full Open. That’s what the name means. Let ‘er go, full throttle, don’t slow down for anything, that’s what the name implies. With 5.5” of plush CVA suspension technology underfoot, there’s nothing stopping those 29” wheels except the human instinct to live another day.

Niner thought about all of the ways people might take advantage of having 5.5” of travel coupled with a 29” wheel, and designed the W.F.O. 9 to handle them all. A custom S-bend hydroformed downtube allows the use of both coil and piggyback shocks. An offset bottom linkage makes room for an ISCG mount, making this frame the first 29er to be compatible with the all new SRAM Hammerschmidt system and other chain guide systems.  An optional 150mm rear spacing increases rear wheel strength and stiffness.
