Chris King hubs, some of the most highly sought after components, are both engineering masterpieces and examples of meticulous craftsmanship. Those who have taken them apart and seen how they work often compare the precision and detail to that of the inner workings of a watch. Yet they're light, strong and easy to service.
All rear hubs utilise the RingDrive engagement mechanism. RingDrive uses 72 engagement teeth on each drive ring. That means the hub engages over 3 times quicker than the standard 24 tooth pawl-type freehub. Trying to get started again in the middle of a steep uphill section? Going for the surprise jump to drop your buddies? This unique design offers instant and positive engagement that's capable of handling a torque load of over 800ft/lbs, or over three times more than most other high end hubs tested. It is the heart of the hub and all the rest is built around it.

ISO Hubs
Brand Chris King Model Year Sizes Available Front = QR, 15mm or 20mm Rear = 135mm or 150mm, QR or Fun Bolt Features As with all Chris King hubs, the ISO hubs are completely user serviceable. Bearing preload can be adjusted without removing the wheel using a 2.5 hex-head wrench to fine-tune the adjusting clamp on the non-drive side. Thorough service can be performed on the hub bearings using a 2.5 hex-head wrench and blade while the Hub Service Tool allows for full hub and driveshell disassembly and reassembly.
King hubs have a reputation for durability and just because these hub takes on severe conditions doesn't mean it misses out on the 5 year hub warranty.
The stainless steel driveshell can be added to the ISO for maximum durability.

Chris and the engineering team began every design meeting for the R45 with two words - Light & Fast. Every element of each hub was reconsidered and much of the design is all-new including new dimensions and new materials. Something very important was carried over, however, the soul of a King hub.
In response to demand for handbuilt, low-spoke count wheels, the R45 is offered in a wider array of drillings than the Classic hubs. The R45 is also designed to be compatible with radial lacing patterns. We can help you determine the best spoke count and lacing pattern for your riding style.

Single Speed Hubs
Brand Chris King Model Year Sizes Available 28, 32 and 36 Hole Features The Chris King ISO Single Speed Disc Rear Hub is purpose built for singlespeed riding. Wide-spaced, equal size aluminum hubshell flanges set the base for a low-dish wheel; the less the dish, the stronger the wheel. Building strength upon strength, the renowned sealed bearings turn around a one-piece 19.5 mm dropout-to-dropout axle while the RingDrive engagement provides near instantaneous power transfer.
FunBolts are hollow stainless steel fixing bolts with an aluminum cap sleeve. At 42 grams per pair they ably define the concept of responsibly light.
User serviceability is a hallmark of all Chris King hubs. With the ISO Single Speed Disc all you need is a 2.5mm hex-head wrench to adjust the bearing preload or to remove the axle clamp and service the bearings. As with every hub manufactured, this hub is backed by a 5-year warranty.
