Justin Wornes
Riding Discipline (or lack of): MTB, Road and a touch of Track in the winter months
Favourite Riding spot: Mt. Macedon\Woodend area or the road to Baw Baw from Noojee.
Short and long term goals: Trying the get faster while not losing the enjoyment of riding.
Favourite Bike: Up until two weeks ago it was my 06 S-Works Stumpjumper HT.
I didn't think a MTB could get much better. Then it somehow materialized into a brand new 09 S-Works Stumpjumper HT while in the Workshop! It's a whole new level again.
Years Racing: Three.
When did you begin cycling and why?: As most kids I enjoyed riding a bike, then as I reached my teens, as most kids did, discovered music and bands and going out and... Which went on for about 15 years. Then I came back to bikes riding Road, then Track later to try out racing and adding MTB for the trifecta and the variety.
Have you suffered any serious injuries cycling? Describe what and how:
None... yet.
Describe your greatest cycling achievement to date: It's hard to chose between two. Winning the Masters 1/2/3 category in the Baw Baw Classic was a really enjoyable day on the bike. Then just recently winning the Masters Category at the Australian MTB Nationals was another equally enjoyable day.
Describe your worst race or cycling experience: I hate getting cold and wet to the bone in the depths of winter while out riding. Though it does bring a cense of achievement once you are home and thawed out.
Describe your favourite race: One that I know I have left it all out on course.
