For support of cycling in Australia, Cycling Australia is the national governing body. Cycling Australia works in affiliation with the international Cycling Union and is accountable for the sport of cycling in Australia. Every state and territory cycling organisation works in affiliation with, and are members of Cycling Australia. Cycling Australia strives for the greatest success at the highest levels of cycling, as well as support the continual growth and development of the sport and its participants. The Australian Sports Commission in conjunction with Cycling Australia have launched new participant programs, based at grass-roots levels, for new riders to become involved in this viable sport. Cycling Australia has maby programs designed to encourage riders of all ages and cycling levels. At the end of the day Cycling Australia have established these programs as a way of keeping cycling as fun and as safe a way to excercise as possible.
